Many are distraught, angry, or confused by the jury ruling in the Trayvon Martin case. As thousands of citizens around the country deal with this ruling, we too must examine the impact of Trayvon Martin’s death, and the trial that followed. At the Inclusion Center, we believe that prejudice affects us all. People of all races are influenced by racial stereotypes, messages promulgated through out the media, and stories we are told growing up. The work of dismantling racial stereotypes and judgements are a constant challenge but necessary when addressing human relations. After all, we cannot separate ourselves from the world we live in.

The dispute between races, religion, and people have been existent since the very beginning men started to rationalize. I think it is about time that we set our differences aside and start to see each other equally as fellow human beings. Stereotyping and racism might just be innate for some people and I know that there is nothing we can do completely stop this way of thinking. The best thing to do right now is to pass on the idea that all men are equal despite of the differences in race, religion, and etc. 5/16/2018 07:14:52 pm
I believe that people nowadays are better compared to what they are before. Sure there are still some people out there who are racists and stereotypes but the number has significantly declined if you would compare it a few decades ago. Who knows, maybe in the following years, these issues might be completely solved and men will see each other without any type of discrimination nor differences in their eyes. Take note though, that it is only possible if we start to accept the truth behind our dissimilarities. Comments are closed.
